• Manual Muscle Testing and Range of Motion: Successfully proved competency in ROM and MMT assessments through a simulated experience with a standardized patient.

• Neurological Assessment of SCI, CVA, and other Diagnoses: Successfully proved competency performing a neurological exam for a client with a SCI, including assessments of tone, spasticity, muscle strength, sensation, balance, and cranial nerves 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6.

• Neurological Cognitive Assessments: Successfully proved competency in the administration of cognitive assessments through a simulated telehealth experience administrating the SLUMS to a peer. 

• Splinting Check-Off: successfully created a resting hand splint, forearm-based thumb spica, and wrist-cock up splint during a splinting lab with hand therapists from the University of Toledo Medical Center.

• Administration of Pediatric Assessments: successfully demonstrated competency in administering and scoring pediatric assessments by administering the Peabody Developmental Motor Scales 2nd Edition to an 11-month old, scoring the assessment, and writing a letter to the child's parents with an interpretation of the results. 

• Transfer Competency: Successfully proved competency in completing the following transfers during a simulated clinical experience with a client

  • Bed mobility x2  sit to supine, supine to sit

  • Floor to chair x1

  • Sit to stand pivot x 1 with a FWW and pt NWB on one extremity

  • DEP squat pivot x2

  • Slideboard transfer x1 w/c to chair
